I have yet to see a walrus in the flesh. I did this today as a quick sketch of a photo taken by Mitswaki Iwago in Canada on July 21 2002. Walrus are listed on the IUCN Red List as a species of least concern. However they have also noted that populations are in decline with very little data available on the two subspecies.
